Following the first meetings at University of Toulouse Mirail from 2003 till 2006, meetings MASHS (Modèles et Apprentissages en Sciences Humaines et Sociales -Models and learnings in Human and social Sciences-) were created at the University of Brest in 2007 by professors belonging to different disciplines and fields:

Economics and management

Geography

Mathematics and Computer Science

After the first meetings located in  Brest ( 2007 ), Créteil ( 2008 ) and Toulouse ( 2009 ), Lille has been chosen to organise the next conference.

The purpose of this conference is to promote the use of mathematics and computer science to different fields -human and social sciences- (economy, geography, sociology, management without being exhaustive).

This multidisciplinarity answers the need to develop the knowledge and the use of the methods such as:

  • Neural netwoks
  • Genetic Algorithms
  • Information System
  • Data Analysis : multidimensional typological, data mining
  • Critical analysis of models used

Among the fields of interests, we can underline:

  • Decision-making models and individual and collective learning
  • Machine learning
  • Training Models and scattering of opinions
  • Time series analysis
  • Bankruptcy detection
  • Risk management
  • Spatial Dynamics and territorial networks, multi-scales methods, urban territorial, urban networks, urban dynamics, mobility, geomarketing, geographical economy
  • Generic social Processes (solidarity, control, regulation, etc.)
  • Interactions on networks

Invited speakers:
Mr Timo Honkela - Professor at Helsinki University of Technology, Finland
Mr Tomaz Lopes Cavalheiro Ponce Dentinho - Professor at University of Azores, Portugal
